Of course that’s a loaded question. It’s been forgotten about by our rulers.
It’s even been dropped by the fall guys at the FBI whose job it was to stand in front of the cameras, talk tough, and then… well, we aren’t sure.
They got the first part down perfectly. The FBI issues the best press releases of any federal law enforcement agency. Heck, they issue press releases for other agencies’ cases (but neglect to mention the other agencies). Some of their best work on this case is here.
But investigations can be dangerous. So the feckless Special Agents went to Tripoli. Hey, that’s at least in the same country.
Eight days later the Leftists at UPI noted that they had made great progress…They were still in Tripoli.
But CNN reported
They had difficulty, and we understand there was some bureaucratic infighting between the FBI and Justice Department on the one hand, and the State Department on the other, and so it took them longer than they would have liked to get into country. They’ve now gotten there. But they still are unable to get permission to go to Benghazi.”
FBI agents have made a request through the U.S. State Department for the crime scene to be secured, Townsend said, but that has not happened.
“The senior law enforcement official I spoke to said, ‘If we get there now, it’s not clear that it will be of any use to us,’” Townsend said.
So even the State Department is able to block the Agents from getting to what’s left of the “crime scene”. We don’t even need Al-Qaida to stop the charade, our own government is ensuring failure.
The Bureau wouldn’t comment officially, but USA Today (!!) published a piece that said
For security reasons, FBI agents are staying away from the Libyan city where a U.S. ambassador and three other Americans were killed, two law enforcement officials said Friday.
The officials say the bureau is not going to put agents in harm’s way and that the city of Benghazi must be made secure before the FBI sends investigators there.
So until the entire city is safe, no Agents will go there. Hmm, when will that be? Oh yes, when the US Military wipes out every last Islamist.
And then there will be justice, so the FBI can run another press release claiming victory.
EDIT: Well I was wrong. On October 5 “The FBI agents went to “all the relevant locations” in the city, FBI spokeswoman Kathy Wright said. The FBI would not say what, if anything, they found.” according to the Washington Post. Either they were superhuman and went to multiple locations, set up crime scene investigations, interviewed witnesses, collected evidence and cleaned up in half a day – or they realized that there was nothing of any value and that the crime scenes were so contaminated that anything gathered would be totally useless in court that they took a few pictures and left.
Given that there was no news conference, I’m betting on the latter.

People are blaming the killing of 12 and wounding of 58 at a theatre in Aurora, Colorado on symptoms. Many are using the massacre to push for gun control. Never mind that Aurora has strict gun laws and the theatre is allegedly a “gun free zone”.
The problem is not a tool used by the killer, it’s the existence of evil. Leftists love to draw moral equivalence between unlike things. Suicide bombers are no different than Christians who speak out against forced support of abortion. Self defense is murder. So we can’t have evil since everything and nothing is evil.
Talk of evil makes Leftists nervous. Something that exists outside the self suggests a higher (or at least different) power, and that’s anathema to a Marxist.
The quote in the headline was not originally from the Joker. It’s from Act 1 of Hamlet. People have debated the existence and nature of evil long before the latest murders.
The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum. Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles.

Promotion of immediate gratification with no regard of consequences (e.g. AIDS, illegitimate children, obesity due to continual eating of unhealthy food) is no longer the concern of the individual. They’re merely cast as a passive victim in need of guidance by the nanny State. All the State requires in return is dependence and pressure on those who would dare promote responsibility.
Such a background can’t help but spread the notion of irresponsibility and moral vacuum.
The small man thinks that small acts of goodness are of no benefit, and does not do them; and that small deeds of evil do no harm, and does not refrain from them. Hence, his wickedness becomes so great that it cannot be concealed, and his guilt so great that it cannot be pardoned.

The murderer will certainly be defended by moral relativists as a psychologically ill victim who needs to be put away until he’s better, and then released. The more horrid the crime, the stronger the belief that the perpetrator simply must be sick since a sane person couldn’t do such a thing.
Absent evidence that the killer was having paranoid ideation (e.g. he believed the shooting victims were Nazis at a meeting to plan the Holocaust) or hallucinations (the theatregoers were a pack of wolves trying to attack him), committing mass murder shouldn’t be an automatic ticket to a State Hospital. The cold preparation of ordering his tactical equipment, booby trapping his apartment, and having the presence of mind to invoke his rights against self-incrimination tips the scale toward him being an evil person who made a choice to do great harm. Calling yourself the Joker doesn’t magically make you less responsible.

I always thought of the US Secret Service as the absolute top of Federal Law Enforcement. They are the best bodyguards in the world, period. Their job is to protect the most powerful man in the world (at least until Barry takes us down a few more notches).
But this news story today gives me pause. A group of young conservatives were in front of the White House calling for the firing of Attorney General Eric Holder over his role in and coverup of Fast and Furious.

Maurice Lewis, a student at the University of California, Merced, who marched in the event told Campus Reform that the Secret Service had seemed on edge well before the “suspicious package” was discovered.
“Several agents seemed hostile to our march and seemed anxious for us to leave the area,” said Lewis. “The discovery of the ‘unidentified package’ came just as the protest began to gain traction.”
So the Secrets taped off the area and forced everyone to leave.
After the bomb squad cleared the backpack (a tourist laid it down to take a picture and the Secrets immedately had their “reason” to relocate the protest), the conservatives were not allowed to return.
So they went elsewhere.
Can you imagine if the Occupiers had been forced to leave under similar conditions? I know it’s a hard question to fathom because people in the movement gauge success of their operations by the number of arrests, but it wouldn’t be too far out to imagine a story in heavy rotation questioning the feds about their actions against “mostly peaceful” thugs daring to confront armed police in defense of their First Amendment rights.

Two patients limp into two different medical clinics with the same complaint.
Both have trouble walking and appear to require hip surgery.
The FIRST patient is examined within the hour, is x-rayed the same day and has a time booked for surgery the following week.
The SECOND sees his family doctor after waiting 3 weeks for an appointment, then waits 8 weeks to see a specialist, then gets an x-ray, which isn’t reviewed for another week and finally has his surgery scheduled for 6 months from then pending the review boards decision on his age and remaining value to society.
Why the different treatment for the two patients?
The FIRST is a Golden Retriever taken to a vet.
The SECOND is a Senior Citizen on Obama care…
In November if He and his Czars get another term we’ll all have to find a good vet.

After the meme of bearded, screaming jihadis has worn thin, they dust off their insanity for another round of show and tell.
New Scientist reports that a Taliban warlord in North Waziristan (aka Pakistan) has halted a humanitarian program to vaccinate children in his area against polio because of US drone attacks. Hmm, hard to argue with impeccable logic like that. There were 168 cases of polio in Pakistan last year – the most in any country. so the vaccine ban is not just sound and fury.
And crippling or killing your kids with a disease even your avowed enemies are attempting to eradicate will make the West suffer just how? If the West were to immediately back away the same warlord would scream “Islamophobe Child Murderer” and Leftists would nod in agreement.
What is a proper response to the Warlord? Risk the lives of unarmed UN do-gooders (Pakistan surely won’t allow the US to guard them without huge bribe payments) to save jihadis-of-tomorrow, attempt to explain that saving the kids won’t promote the use of drones, or back off until we can fly said drone into soverign Pakistani territory and quiet down this self-appointed guardian of a godforsaken cave. Which will the US actually do? It’s pointless to opine on what the UN would do – they’d pass a resolution against the US and Israel – that’s their cure for everything.

Jesse Jackson’s newest attempt at relevance is the nonsensical linkage of gun ranges and dealers with Black unemployment. For the protest signs and chants that’s “Guns out = Jobs in”.
You’d think Detroit would be a prime audience for his magical equivalence. The city is turning off half of its streetlights in an effort to nudge scattered residents together like moths to taxpayer-funded flames. Violence and the resulting shrinking tax base has killed the city. It’s merely an insolvent zombie feeding off of brains, er, tax money taken from other Michigan cities.
But even Reverend Rhyming Couplet can’t coalesce his coalition in the latest media embarrassment. All three supporters and a bullhorn showed up at Action Impact – a firing range and gun store. Reverend Jackson did not attend.
The protesters were outnumbered 15 to 1 by a true Rainbow Coalition – shooters.
Ammoland nailed it. They noted that while Action Impact is near Detroit. It’s in Southfield, an independent city of 71,000 with a median income of $48,652 compared to the statewide median income of $45,255 in 2009.
Actually, there aren’t any firing ranges in Detroit. Hmm, there must be jobs there then! And peace.
Maybe Jesse’s supporters are smarter than Jesse and didn’t want to look stupid by protesting in the wrong city. It’d be like the Occupiers showing solidarity with their oppressed brothers in Compton by welcoming the folks along the Strand on Manhattan Beach. Hey, it’s only a few miles away.
